Collection from Dior |
Collection from BCBG Max Azria |
Yes, color has become the new black. It is no doubt that one of this years biggest summer trends is bright, bright, and brighter colors. After a long period of blacks, grays, dulls, and neutrals, this new trend is definitely refreshing. Don't be afraid to try this trend, though some colors may seem intimidating or daring to wear, it always looks amazing.
It is being seen in countless designers from locals, to moderates, to high end. This Alpha loves the idea of color blocking and using bright colors as a trend. The enhancement of colors for this particular season works well because it brings out a whole new vibe of glamor, warmth, and fun, which is what summer is all about.
Collection from D&G |
Different designers have different takes on how to wear bright colors and how to match bright colors. While some, like in the BCBG Max Azria and Zara collection, simply make the whole piece of clothing one bright color, others, like Dior, mix bright colors with either other bright hues or simple colors to even things out.
Collection from Marc by Marc Jacobs |
Many designers also based their whole collection on one bright color. For example, Marc by Marc Jacobs mainly used a bright yellow in clothes and a bright orange in accessories. On the other hand, the D&G collection has a large majority of bright hot pink matched with black.
Collection from Zara |
This Alpha's favorite store is Zara, whose collection is shown on the right. In particular my favorite outfit is the bold blue top and color filled pants worn by the model on the left of the collage. Using a top that is one sold color evens out the craziness of the pants.
Love,
ALPHA
