Movies: X-Men: First Class

That's right, another super hero movie. But the X-Men aren't new to movie theaters, already boasting 4 films so far, X-Men: First Class is the fifth movie to the series functioning as more of a prologue to the series. In this particular part of the series we are revealed the truth about the beginnings of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) and Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Set during the Cold War, this movie combines the historical troubles and horrors of the world at the time as well as the struggles of the mutants in the world. Cleverly put together, with an interesting and well thought of plot, along with an amazing cast - it became a favorite for Alpha (really fast). Definitely go and watch it - it's worth the money!

Let's just discuss the main actors in the film: James McAvoy (right) and Michael Fassbender (left). Two dynamite actors who are making the top movies in the industry these days. Jame McAvoy (Atonement, Wanted, The Last King of Scotland) plays the genius Dr. Xavier, an expert in all things mutant and founder of his remarkable school for mutant peoples. I remember admiring James McAvoy since his initial performance Penelope and the Chronicles of Narnia (He's Mr. Tumnus!). This Scottish actor encompasses all that is of Charles Xavier - wisdom, compassion and good morale. His friend/nemesis is Erik, more commonly known today as Magneto who is played by Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, 300). This German actors is making great leaps into the film industry - and let me tell you he's in a lot of up-coming movies! He too captures the character of Magneto - troubled, angry, violent, vengeful. There are many times when it was only the two on screen when I would tell the other Alphas that there is way to much hotness on the screen. Wouldn't you agree though?
