FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011

On June 26th, national women's soccer teams from all over the world joined together to play each other in the FIFA World Cup taking place in Germany. Usually it is only the men's version of the World Cup people may attention too but this year many are raving over the women. Although there were only 16 teams from the world, definitely less than the men's, many of the games were as intense and skillful as the men's.

After the ten days of initial games within the four group, the quarter finals took place on the 9th and 10th of July. Old rivals England and France versed with France coming on top; Germany, two year running World Cup Champion, lost to the island nation of Japan; the Swedish conquered the Aussies; and finally, Brazil and the United States had a stand off leading the US of A to the win! Now we are entering the Semi-Finals and everything is pins and needles! Now that the favorite Germans are out of the cup, who will take home the name of champion? Watch to see who wins!

France vs USA
(7/13 - 18:00)

Sweden vs. Japan
(7/13 - 20:45)

Don't forget to watch the 3rd/4th place game on the 16th and then the 1st/2nd place game the following day! I know for Alpha that we're all wanting Japan to take home the championship. After the Japanese men brought home the Asia Cup Championship, the nation is thirsty for more and more titles! Gambatte Nippon!

More to come on this topic, Stay Tuned!

Love,
ALPHA
