The Ultimate Sexy Smokey Eye

The smokey eye is known for being extremely sexy and smoldering, a 'come hither' look great for a girl's night out. Although it looks tricky, it's actually not that bad and well you just have to be able to blend your colors well. So here are the steps! 

Step 1 : The Right Palette 

A lot of makeup brands these days know that people look for a specific look and thus form their palette with complementary shades. (Some companies even print a how-to on the back of the palette so you know where to put what color - they're the nice companies!). Usually the colors extend from a soft light color to a close to black finish. The particular palette that I used is from BYS Eyeshadow. The specific palette name? Black Smokey Chic, so I know that I'm using the right thing. There are four different shades and a black. You don't have to use all the shade but its cool to blend the colors and eventually creates this hot look! Also, along with the palette you might want to use different kinds of brushes to apply the eye shadow to your lids. Okay - let's get started!!

Step 2 : First Base

Use the lightest color on the palette and apply on the entire lid. 

Step 3 : Darker and Darker and Darker

Choose the next color on the palette, apply at the lower lid around three-quarters of the way up.

Continue to layer the color to make it darker - use the next two shades. Apply at the crease to achieve a deeper and more intense look. **Concentrate on the crease = it'll make a dramatic affect to die for!**

Time to blend the colors! Use you finger and smudge, you'll know that you did it right when you can see a gradient of colors and not choppy color lines. 

Step 4 : Add the Black Liner

By using black pencil liner, start at the outside corner and then move in towards the inner corner. Apply in smooth strokes. Don't worry if it's a little messy, you'll take care of it soon!

Now for the bottom liner, line underneath the eye beginning at the outside corner, moving toward the inner corner. Line as close to the lashes as possible. Soften the line using a clean finger or a Q-Tip.

Using the end of the palette (the black) use a liner brush and sweep a layer over the liner. This will hold your eye liner. Smudge the line and eye shadow again to create the smokey look - you can also go back and add more of the other darker colors too. Reapplying will add more definition so continue to check and layer as much as you like until you're satisfied. 
Wipe off any extra powder or any mistakes with a Q-Tip or a make-up wipe.

Step 5 : Marvelous Mascara

Finish your look with mascara - seriously, adds so much drama to your eyes. Perfection!

Step 6 : The Final Look

Okay...this does look a bit creepy but that's the final smokey eye! To complete your look add either a pale lip color, medium lip color or to go all out go for that dark lipstick. I think Smokey Eyes look great with straight hair - very rock and roll temptress if you ask me!
