Kobe Beef

I am just going to start this post by saying Kobe beef is the best thing that has happened to this world.

Kobe beef comes from the black breed of Tajima cow breed of Wagyu cattle, grown in a very specific way in ALPHA's home city of Kobe. To make this beef so special, the cows were geographically isolated in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan. Different breeding and feeding techniques were used on the geographically isolated breed, creating different characteristics then all cows from the rest of the world. The cows are hand-fed on various grains, freshly cut green grass, hay, rice straw, and in some cases wastes from agricultural processing plants. In summer, when temperatures rise and the cows lose their appetite, they are given beer to drink (usually these months are August, September, October). The are given a bottle of beer a day until their appetite returns. In addition, from May to October, each cow gets a 20 minute massage using massage oil and a special straw brush. This helps improve the distribution of sub-energy and the softness and tenderness of the beef. Japanese use these specific techniques of feeding, giving beer, and giving massages to create a beef that is beyond amazing.

Love,
ALPHA
