So, it's been about a month and we've been able to keep this blog running which is amazing - well for me at least. I just wanted to give you an update on Alpha. Last month was actually Alpha's last times together - it was joyous, hilarious, adventurous (meh not really), memorable and hard.
In the middle of July, Alpha 4 spent its last few days with our beloved Alpha. On her last day, we took her to the airport and stayed with her until it was time for her to go through security. We held her tight, cried, stole her passport and said our last words to each other face to face. We couldn't do anything but watch from the window as Alpha left to start a new chapter of her life in Lebanon. Tears running down our faces, forced smiles and heavy arms waving at each other. It's always so hard to say goodbye, but what am I saying, there is never goodbye for Alpha.
And slowly, one by one, we too all went to different parts of the world - being the Alpha in separate locations. Alpha led the way on her journey to Lebanon, Alpha traveled back home to India, Alpha flew to her family in the Philippines, Alpha went to England to celebrate her sister's graduation, and this Alpha explored the different parts of Japan. It is really cool to think that we were in different parts of the world - and still communicating - a lot. You can really tell that a friendship is strong based on what you can talk about and when you can talk about it. Alpha - completely open. Anything and everything is discussed no matter where we are - and when I say everything, I legitimately mean it!
Soon, Alpha 4 will meet up again just before we all head to college (Alpha 3 heading to the East Coast, Alpha heading to the West). Although it may be while for Alpha 5 to fully reunite, we all know deep down that this friendship, that this Alpha business, will last. We're making sure of it. We will talk all the time about whatever, whenever! Blog or no blog, I'm making sure that Alpha knows that I care for them, miss them and love them everyday.
I really do love you Alpha!
Love,
ALPHA
