I would describe myself as very health/body conscious. Every other month or so, I would take a no-junk-food diet because I had the fear of my body getting a little to large for my liking as well as my mother's (mostly my mother's). Also, as you can see in my other posts - I'm quite drawn to making and eating sweets.
As we, Alphas, head off to college in the fall we are stricken with the fear of many people in the same position as we are: THE FRESHMAN 15 as well as not having our parents make food choices for us. However, this definitely applies for those who are not going to be freshman and are still in high school or even outside of college as well. Since I have yet, hopefully I don't, to experience the Freshman 15, I figure I really just have to watch what I am eating - it really isn't the amount but the quality of the food.
I,and the rest of Alpha, have grown up reading seventeen magazine and I've always been drawn to the "Health" section. This section doesn't tell you not to eat certain foods, but gives you great, healthy and delicious alternatives instead. However, I feel that every time a new issue of Seventeen comes out or I finish that current issue, I totally forget about any of its great advice - ones that I would buy/make for myself in college.
Therefore, I decided to rip out that "Health" section from all the issues I had of Seventeen lying around, scan them and place them into a PDF so that myself, the rest of Alpha, and yourselves can look at them anytime we/you need a little inspiration for battling the Freshman 15 or just looking for that yummy, nutritious afternoon snack.
Love,
ALPHA
