Theater: Ghetto Klown

Hilarious no? John Leguizamo - you may know him from his portrayal of Tybalt Capulet in Romeo + Juliet, or being the Bohemian sitar Toulouse in Moulin Rouge. If you still don't know who he is fine...he is the voice of Sid in Ice Age. John Leguizamo is a Colombian-born American actor, producer, voice artist and clearly a comedian. His latest solo show is called 'Ghetto Klown' which began in November 2010.

The show is basically the next chapter of John Leguizamo's personal and professional life story. While performing Leguizamo explodes with energy and definitely leads the audience on a hot adventure. He explains vivid accounts of where he's been and the colorful characters who have featured in his life. The journey begins in his adolescent memories in the Queens o the early days of his acting career which of course was during the outrageous 80s (think avant-garde theater scenes). And finally rolls into the sets of major motion pictures acting among some of the biggest stars in Hollywood (Hello Leo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman!).

John Leguizamo states himself, "Ghetto Klown is all the things I say to my therapoist and my manager, but would NEVER want the general public to know. It's cheaper than a lawsuit and I get to take a bow at the end. It's like Wikileaks but with no international manhunt...yet."

Read the Theater Review from the NY Times.

Personally, I like him very much and I do think he's absolutely hilarious. You should totally look into this show (and him too - I think he's a very talented actor).

Love,
ALPHA
