Eau De Parfum

Perfume is one of those staple items in a girls life - it really gives us a little extra flavor and who doesn't like to smell fantastic. There's actually more to perfume than most people think - there are many types and some people don't even need perfume and should actually resort to spray/body mists or scented lotion. So here we go!

This Alpha's Favorite Scents!

  • Perfume  - (Also known as Extract or Extrait Perfume)
    • It contains 15-40% of perfume concentrates.
    • This is the purest form of a scented product (it's also the most expensive)
  • Eau de Parfum
    • It contains 7-15% of perfume concentrates.
    • This is the most popular and common form of perfume.
    • It provides a long-lasting fragrance and doesn't cost as much as Extract Perfume.
  • Eau de Toilette
    • Has 1-6% of perfume concentrates.
    • Makes for a light scent that doesn't really linger for longer periods.
    • Originally intended to a 'body splash' to help people wake up in the morning
  • Eau de Cologne
    • It can be interchanged with Eau de Toilette
    • Usually noted as the men's version of perfume - not limited to men though!
Fun, Flirty Scents!

Tip: Keep your perfume in a cool place, away from heat and direct light. The best place is to place it in a drawer - sorry! I know the bottles are quite pretty. This helps to keep the scent lively and prevent it from evaporating. you can even put it in the fridge to help make it last longer. Remember, fragrances typically only last a year before it starts to change. So stick to one or two scents at a time!

Gentle, More Professional Scents.

Tip: To keep the scent lasting all day (without over spraying of course). Well for scents that you want to keep for short while use Eau De Toilettes or body splashes/mists. For others it all depends on where you spray. Spritz or dab the scent on pulse points like behind the ears and wrists, ankles, and neck. Those locations generate more heat so it help illuminate scent. Consider buying the additional shower gel and lotion - it will help build up the scent the whole day!

Try something new! You never know - you might end up loving it!

Tip: To wear your perfume without overpowering the scent, follow the cardinal rule of one to two pumps. If you have any concern ask a close friend to "smell" you so you can get an idea to how much is enough.

Body mists/sprays, stick perfume, creams or lotions are great alternatives!
