Thrift Tips

A cute stumble that I came across about tips on going thrift shopping! Here are the tips I liked:

I loooooove GoodWill. For real.
1. Keep a Running List of Wants & Needs
Just so you kind of have a general idea of what you really need to shop for so you're not aimlessly looking at racks and racks of clothing! It also helps to manage your time.

2. Keep an Open Eye
You never know what's going to look good on you, it's just like regular shopping! Typically you can try things on at thrift stores so don't be afraid to select some items that you don't often wear.

3. If in Doubt...Don't
If shopping alone and you can't decide if you like it or not...I suggest not buying it. I mean don't you apply this rule when you shop regularly?

4. Shop Often!
Thrift stores always have new clothes coming in - so, it's smart to go to these stores often and check out what they've got :)

5. Be Prepared
Money wise! Makes sure you've cash and your credit/debit card! Just in case!

6. Don't Forget the Little Things
Some of the coolest items that thrift stores have are belts, hats, bags, jewelry, and other minor detailed items. So, don't skip it!!

7. Question Each Purchase
This is like tip 3. If you have doubts, you should skip it. But if you really do like something but aren't sure of it always think, what do I have that I can match this with? or what kinds of outfits can I create with this piece. In fact those questions go with anytime you go shopping. Just saying...

8. It's Okay Not to Find a Find
Just because thrift stores generally are cheaper doesn't mean you always need to buy something. That's just silly.

I have one more personal tip - if it looks old and worn out don't buy it! It may be really cute and looks great on you but the chances of it breaking and being ruined are so not worth the money! Also...it's kind of gross. lol. I always tend to buy items that are fairly new and not really worn down. But yey! Thrift stores are the best!

Love,
ALPHA
