Destination: Phi Phi Islands, Thailand

The Phi Phi Islands are located between the large island of Phuket and the western Andaman Sea coast of the mainland. Ko Phi Phi Don is the largest island of the group and is the only island with permanent inhabitants, although the beaches of the second largest island, Ko Phi Phi Lee, are visited by many people as well. Many of the islands are merely large limestone rocks jutting out of the sea - incredibly beautiful.

The Phi Phi islands are a collection of six separate islands. There is an abundance of coral and marine life in the area underneath the amazingly blue sea water. The island scenery consists of mountains, cliffs, caves and white sandy beaches - paradise.

 The Beach was filmed.
The oldest and most famous cave at
Phi Phi Island.
Many famous movies have been filmed in the beauteous area. The Beach (2000) featuring Leonardo DiCaprio - I saw the exact beach the movie was filmed out, and it really is how it looks! Stealth (2005) with Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel and Josh Lucas. (We also think some footage of Hangover 2 took place at the Phi Phi Islands)

is extraordinary due to the immense
coral and marine life!
How to get to the islands? You must you to Phuket, and it is usually a day trip to Phi Phi Islands (but you can stay at the islands as well). Most boat trips are day trip which includes snacks, beverages, and lunch. Some may offer activities like snorkeling. It is a pretty long distance to travel but worth it to see the mouth-opening scenery! Just don't forget the sunscreen, hats, sunglasses! - if you stay on the top of the boat you're going to be in the sun the whole day.

Really a remarkable experience! I loved it. The perfect, iconic image of paradise.

Love,
ALPHA
