When we are tired, we lose the ability to maintain self control, leading us to binge eating, long hours on the internet, and getting absolutely nothing done. Without at least 6-7 hours of sleep, our bodies won't deliver enough glucose to our brains to give us the motivation to move actively.
Take the time everyday to close your eyes and focus your attention on breathing and positive experiences. Let your mind wander about your goals and routines. In the long run, this will build willpower and self control.
Alcohol lowers your blood glucose, which dramatically weakens your determination. Alcohol also causes dehydration, which will disable you to exercise at your optimum.
4. Have a Contingency Plan
Don't give yourself reasons not to do things. If you always press the snooze button in the morning, put your alarm clock on the other side of the room. This will force you to get up to turn it off. If for any reason you think you can't go to the gym, make it happen.
5. Hang on to the Finish Line
Let's admit it, most of us don't exercise to become healthy, we do it to lose weight. And there is nothing wrong with that! If you are doing it just to fit into smaller size jeans, then hold on to that reason! Make it your motivation, your finish line.
Love,
ALPHA
